An 11th‑grade student, Joshua Grama, used the public‑comment period at the Hanover Area School District Board meeting on March 10 to allege ongoing bullying by his basketball coach, including being pushed and physically grabbed.
Grama told the board he has experienced repeated name‑calling, public humiliation, benching and physical contact. He said he had been told by staff not to report the coach, described being mocked in games and classrooms, and asked the board to address the problem. "My coach had physically grabbed me," he said, and added he could provide text messages and pictures to substantiate his account.
Superintendent (on the record) told Grama he planned to follow up and asked him to meet the next day to share the evidence so administration could review the complaints. A school official in the room also encouraged Grama and acknowledged planning an earlier conversation.
The board had no formal action during the public comment period; the superintendent’s offer to meet was the immediate follow‑up stated in the meeting. The transcript does not record any response from the coach or a discipline decision during the meeting.
