The Paducah Board of Commissioners on March 24 introduced an ordinance to annex a 0.371‑acre tract at 224 Burger Road into the city limits. City planning staff (Josh) described the parcel as 16,143 square feet and said the property owner requested annexation to obtain a property tax rebate and city sanitation service; the building is currently vacant.
"This is about the most straightforward annexation we could ever hope for, to tell you the truth," Josh said while describing the property and the requested R‑4 zoning that would permit certain office uses. Staff said the city is completing a 45‑day notification to the fiscal court and expects the item to return to the commission for final action after planning commission zoning review in late April.
Because the item was introduced rather than adopted, no final vote or change to the city boundary occurred on March 24. Staff listed next steps: complete the notification period, receive the planning commission recommendation and return the matter for final commission action.
