The presenter summarized Dr. Thomas's credentials: a bachelor of science from Texas Christian University (2003), a master's in educational leadership and policy studies from Texas A&M Central Texas (2012) and a 2025 doctorate in organizational development and change from Bowling Green State University; 22 years in education, including 13 years in Temple ISD and service as principal at Scott Elementary and current principal at Sampson Howard Elementary.
After the committee presentation, board member Mr. Danes moved to approve the finalist and the motion was seconded. Dr. Thomas (speaker 8) addressed trustees and families, expressing gratitude and a stated commitment "to ensure every student has access to rigorous learning in every classroom on every campus every day." She thanked staff and mentors who supported her career and said her priority is supporting teachers and leaders to improve student outcomes.
The board approved the appointment by vote recorded at the meeting; the district will move forward with onboarding and assignment of responsibilities under the executive director role.
