Resident alleges missing municipal funds; council says some contracts now posted online

A resident attending the agenda portion of the March 17 meeting delivered a lengthy written demand for municipal records, alleging the city cannot account for licensing revenue and raising questions about contracts, property transfers and insurance coverage.
Tracy Millman said she was presenting a “formal demand for production of municipal records” and listed items including marijuana-license revenues, Downtown Development Authority transactions and 35 city-owned properties she said were transferred without public auction. Mayor Pro Tem Dennis O'Rourke thanked her for bringing the concerns and said the council would capture her comments in the minutes; the clerk noted the three-minute period had expired but Millman indicated she would file the written demand.
In the mayor's report, O'Rourke said the council had posted the fire and police contracts to the Walled Lake website under the government tab and asked that City Manager Dennis Witt's contract be posted by the end of the week. Council members discussed limits on posting confidential personnel information and agreed to continue balancing transparency with legal and privacy concerns while complying with records requests.
