Staff said the curriculum is delivered through modules, training and an apprenticeship link with regional employers; presenters noted only one company currently produces the particular hardware modules associated with the curriculum but that credentials can be ported to other systems.
Board members asked about vendor alternatives, contract terms, ongoing upgrades as technology changes and whether the district has budgeted for the purchase. Finance discussion determined the district has funds to support the purchase if approved, but several board members requested additional detail on procurement options and whether the district should contract directly with the curriculum provider.
The board did not take a final purchasing vote during the meeting and asked staff to bring additional procurement details to a forthcoming work session.
