In the first case, citation P01790V, the magistrate identified the respondent as Jamie Cokens. Cokens said she had hung a valid placard before leaving but that "it fell off the rearview mirror." With no officer present, the magistrate said, "there being no one appearing for the police department, I'm going to dismiss the case," and told Cokens the city would send an order showing the dismissal.
In the second case, citation P01810V, the magistrate named the respondent as Nicole Punter. Punter told the panel the placard had been "in the car, like, down to the console," and said she was rushing that day for work at Crazy Hot Buys. The magistrate again noted the absence of a police officer and dismissed the case, saying an order would be issued to confirm the dismissal.
Both dismissals were procedural: the magistrate explained that when an officer issues a citation but does not appear at the hearing the city cannot proceed, and the respondents were told the dismissal would be reflected in a written order.
The registry moved on to code‑enforcement cases after the dismissals; the meeting adjourned at the close of the agenda.
