District presents elementary curriculum overview and plans to share i‑Ready family reports in June

Assistant Superintendent Christina Poppy opened an elementary curriculum overview, saying the presentation would "hone in on 4 major instructional focuses" that form the backbone of the district's elementary approach.
"Collectively, we have been focused on integrating our social studies topics into literacy instruction," Poppy said, describing how teachers use subject‑specific read‑alouds to build background knowledge and informational writing opportunities.
Erin Papadopoulos and Mr. Winkel described cross‑content design and the districtinitiatives in literacy and mathematics, respectively, and emphasized small‑group instruction so students in greatest need receive targeted support several times each week.
Administrators walked the board through how the district uses i‑Ready and other screeners (AIMSweb) to identify students at risk and to monitor growth. Presenters cited a district snapshot showing math students on or above grade level increasing from about 17% to 40% between fall and winter administration, and a decrease in the "at most at risk" group from 19% to 9%.
"Beginning in June 2026, student performance reports will be available to parents through the assessment tab in the eSchool parent portal," Miss Renda said, adding that the June family report will include fall, winter and spring diagnostics so parents can view growth across the 2025–26 school year. She noted the portal reports would continue in the 2026–27 school year after each diagnostic administration.
Trustees asked how i‑Ready administrations are communicated to families and whether parents will be notified in advance; presenters said the district is working toward improved family notification and will provide sample reports and guidance to help parents interpret the diagnostic snapshot.
Next steps: administrators will prepare the parent reporting rollout, reinforce teacher professional development tied to Envision/Savvas math and continue to use multiple measures to guide tiered interventions.
