"Ground-mounted equipment that is properly screened is preferred within these service areas," staff said, and recommended approval because the proposed improvements are primarily located in rear and service areas and would reduce visual impact.
The applicant confirmed the submission and there were no substantive questions from board members. A motion to approve the submission as presented passed on roll call.
Because the work is largely located in service areas and includes screening measures, staff concluded the proposal aligns with the university district plan's objective to minimize visibility of mechanical and service functions from the public realm. The applicant will proceed with permitting following standard staff sign-offs.
