The commission did not take formal action on the comment at the meeting but commissioners later discussed state highway speed-posting rules and noted limits on county authority over state highways; staff and the sheriff confirmed speed limits default to 30 miles per hour for unposted residential roads and said they will follow up on safety concerns and deputy coverage near schools.
