West Fargo approves concrete repairs, five bus shelters and purchase of ISCO flow meters

On March 16 the West Fargo City Commission approved several capital and operational items affecting streets, transit and utilities.
Dan Hansen summarized the annual 2026 concrete pavement repairs and the commission approved creating Project #2299 and directed the engineer to prepare an engineer’s report. Hansen said the capital-improvement plan budgets $1,000,000 for concrete repairs and $250,000 for pedestrian‑ramp replacement.
The commission also approved Project #6064 to place five transit shelters at five high‑ridership stops after Matt Bus offered 10 available shelters to the city; initial sites include locations near 4th, 7th, 9th and two stops along 32nd Avenue (including by the lights and near Cash Wise). Hansen said staff will use internal engineering and public‑works crews to prepare pad sites.
For wastewater planning, the commission approved purchasing mobile flow meters from ISCO for $150,885 to calibrate the city’s hydraulic model as part of a wastewater serviceability and risk‑reduction study. Hansen said the calibrated model will improve future lift‑station rehabilitation design and help identify inflow and infiltration. Two vendor estimates were provided: HACH ($141,773.60) and ISCO ($150,885); Public Works and consultants recommended ISCO for lower ongoing costs and vendor support.
Each of the items passed on unanimous votes.
