The Lebanon City Council approved an ordinance March 23 to rename Elm Street — including portions of Mill Creek Road and Highway W — to Route 66, with an effective sign date of April 1. Staff said they would notify the U.S. Postal Service and begin installing Route 66 street signs.
City staff also described America250 preparations for downtown: new banners will be installed on Elm and Jefferson streetlights, new flower‑pot holders have been placed and the HD Lehi parking lot is being paved to host activities around July 3. Staff noted the Route 66 signs have been ordered and downtown programming is being coordinated with anticipated use of the parking area during events.
The action drew no recorded public opposition during the required public‑notice period, and staff said they received no negative comments following the public hearing required by the street‑name ordinance.
