County staff report website security and GST service problems; commissioners ask for quotes

"He looked at our web page and said it was crap," Peggy told the commission, quoting the GST contractor's blunt assessment about the site’s security and compatibility. Staff said the issue caused a 10-day outage of some services after a firewall change and forced reliance on a separate secure portal for payments.
Commissioners and staff discussed options including asking the current contractor (Titus) to rebuild the site using platforms that support SSL (GoDaddy/WordPress) or obtaining vendor quotes to build a new site and migrate the .gov domain to a secure configuration. Peggy said she will seek quotes and return to the commission with options.
What happens next: County staff will collect quotes and further information on rebuilding the site or obtaining a secure SSL setup and report back to the commission; no procurement contract was authorized at the meeting.
