Summary
District treasurer told the board the audit was clean and the final tax settlement matched forecasts (about a 2.6% increase); the board approved consent items including a three-year price-lock Medicaid services agreement (Healthcare Process Consulting) and an Ohio Schools Council electric-purchase program.
The Sylvania Board of Education, meeting March 16, approved a consent agenda after the district treasurer reported a clean audit and financial details for the year.
Treasurer Adam Koch told the board the annual audit was released the prior night and would be posted online. He said the district's final tax settlement matched what was forecast, reflecting "about a 2.6% increase" from the previous fiscal year.
Koch outlined consent items 5.1 through 5.5: minutes and the treasurer's report; a recommended three-year price-lock for an annual Medicaid school-services program agreement with Healthcare Process Consulting, which Koch said helps the district recover "almost $400,000 a year" in reimbursements; an electric-purchase program agreement through the Ohio Schools Council to obtain better rates statewide; and annual acceptance of Lucas County rates.
A board member moved approval of items 5.1'5.5 on a consent basis and another seconded; the board recorded affirmative roll-call votes from Julie, Dan, Greg, Tammy and Kim.
The board also handled resolutions related to border-revision complaints for properties with sale prices above $500,000 and approved those items (5.7'5.9) on the record.
The meeting record does not include contract price details for the Ohio Schools Council agreement or the specific dollar value of the proposed Medicaid price lock; the treasurer said the Medicaid services arrangement supports roughly $400,000 in annual reimbursements.
