Sylvania Board appoints Greg Radwin as Northview High School principal

The Sylvania Board of Education voted to appoint Greg Radwin as principal of Northview High School during its March 16 meeting.

Superintendent Dr. Motley recommended Radwin for the role, saying the recommendation was made on behalf of incoming superintendent Zirov, who the superintendent said will assume that district role effective Aug. 1. A board member moved approval and a second carried; the board recorded affirmative roll-call votes from members Julie, Kim, Tammy, Greg and Dan.

Tim, who described the district's interview process, told the board Radwin rose to the top after two extensive interview rounds involving teachers, support staff, administrators, parents and students. "Greg Radwin rose to the top based on his experience, his leadership philosophy, and his deep commitment that he intends to provide to Northview High School," Tim said.

Tim summarized Radwin's tenure at Liberty Center High School since 2019 and highlighted his emphasis on relationship building, visibility in classrooms and open communication with families; the biography presented the candidate's bachelor of science in education leadership from Concordia University of Chicago.

After the vote, Radwin thanked district administration and the board. "On behalf of my family and I, we're grateful and honored to be recommended," he said, adding he looked forward to building on past successes and taking Northview "to the next step."

The appointment follows the board's standard hearing of candidate qualifications and a roll-call vote. The board indicated the appointment was approved at the March 16 meeting; no subsequent effective date for Radwin's start at Northview was specified in the meeting record.
