The Kiel Common Council on March 2026 formally recognized Trevor Heller with a proclamation for completing an Eagle Scout project that installed coach lockers and a ball-storage system at the city soccer complex.
Trevor told the council his project converted roughly half of the existing shed so the right side became dedicated coach storage and the left side retained grounds equipment. "So pretty much what my project was, I did, put in some lockers at the soccer complex in the new shed," he said, adding the lockers hold ball bags, med kits and backpacks and that he received adult help for electrical or heavy work.
The proclamation read at the meeting noted the project encompassed more than 79 hours of planning, design and construction and stated that Heller is graduating with honors from Kiel High School. Ryan read the proclamation and the document referenced the mayor's signature (Robert Henning).
Council members congratulated Heller and invited him to share photos of the installation with staff. The recognition required no council action beyond the proclamation and the council moved on to regular agenda business.
