Twinsburg Board appoints Dr. Sandy Womack Jr. as superintendent; names treasurer pro tem

The Twinsburg Board of Education on March 12 appointed Dr. Sandy Womack Jr. to serve as superintendent of the Twinsburg City School District effective Aug. 1, 2026, approving a three-year employment agreement that sets an annual salary of $155,000.
The board read a resolution that cited Ohio Revised Code Section 3319.01 and authorized the board president and treasurer to sign the employment agreement. The resolution states the contract runs from Aug. 1, 2026, through July 2029 and authorizes up to 10 days of documented consultant work before the effective date at the per-diem rate specified in the agreement.
The motion to adopt the resolution was moved by Mrs. Rush and seconded by Mrs. Hamilton. During the roll-call vote, Mrs. Crawford, Mrs. Hamilton and Mrs. Rush voted yes; Mrs. Egan and Mrs. Travis voted no. The board chair announced the motion passed 3-2.
The meeting also included a separate procedural motion to appoint board member Maria Hamilton as treasurer pro tem for the special meeting while the regular treasurer was absent; that motion was moved by Mrs. Egan and seconded by Mrs. Rush and was approved by voice roll call.
After the superintendent vote, the board paused for a photograph and invited the appointee to speak. Dr. Sandy Womack Jr., introduced in the resolution as the incoming superintendent, thanked the board for the opportunity and said he looks forward to working with students, staff and the community and to collaborating with interim superintendent Marlow during the transition period: “I look forward to getting to know the students,” he said.
The board adjourned at 5:11 p.m.; the resolution takes effect Aug. 1 unless altered by further board action. The record on file includes the adopted employment agreement and the board authorization for pre-start consultant work.
