Resident urges Fruit Heights council to hold town halls before ratifying general plan

Rowley said Mayor Jeanne Gerberg visited her home unannounced on March 4 to ask about concerns she raised at a February 3 council meeting and that the door visit left her unprepared to respond. She said residents should be given repeated, organized opportunities -- outside of council meetings -- to raise questions and have them answered publicly before the council ratifies the plan.
"As a purported transparent mayor who claims to have the community's best interest at heart, I implore you to allow us to be heard repeatedly," Rowley said. She asked the council to add paragraphs to mailed letters offering town‑hall meetings or to schedule meetings at different times to increase access for residents who cannot attend evening council meetings.
The council did not directly respond to Rowley's request during the public‑comment exchange; staff and council later continued with scheduled agenda items.
