Henry County Commission approves minutes, reappoints two members and signs routine expenditures

The Henry County Commission met in Clinton on March 26 and approved routine procedural business, including the minutes from its March 24 meeting and several reappointments.

County Clerk Kelly Merritt read the roll and minutes before Commissioner Mark Larson moved to approve the March 24 minutes; a second was recorded and the motion carried. The commission then reappointed Jane Marshall to the senior citizen service tax board for a four-year term after a motion by Larson and a second by Commissioner Jake Bradley; the board recorded a roll-call vote of Larson: yes, Bradley: yes, Stone: yes. Bradley next moved to reappoint Rick Fosno to the enhanced enterprise zone for a five-year term; Larson seconded and the motion again passed on a roll-call vote (Larson: yes; Bradley: yes; Stone: yes).

The board also authorized expenditures to be paid for multiple departments, including buildings and grounds, law enforcement, general revenue, elections, the coroner, juvenile services, the victim's advocate, Tri County Child Support, the prosecuting attorney, and the assessor. Add-ons and abatements for February were approved and the collector's annual settlement was accepted.

A motion to adjourn was made by Commissioner Jake Bradley and seconded by Commissioner Mark Larson; the motion carried. The meeting later recessed to await a scheduled visitor.

The actions taken on March 26 were procedural and did not introduce new county policy; they complete standard administrative business and set no new deadlines beyond the formal terms of the reappointments.
