The board member described the program as directly tied to the district's strategic plan (the "portrait of an ACS graduate") and emphasized that legacy grant funds are directed to student activities with no administrative overhead. He said the district has approved about 71 legacy grants so far this year and that grants are intended to expand experiences for students at no cost to families.
