Addison Trail student Elias Aguilar received the district’s 80 Eight’s Best recognition for musical leadership, including roles in orchestra, choir and mariachi where staff described his musicianship and leadership. Aguilar thanked staff and family and urged incoming freshmen to get involved in activities.
Willowbrook student Emily Hansen was recognized as the month’s 80 Eight’s Best recipient for performing‑arts leadership, behind‑the‑scenes contributions, athletic participation and academic honors; she described joining girls wrestling and leading in theater.
Career and technical student organizations were also honored. Addison Trail students earned top‑10 placements at BPA state competitions and will attend BPA nationals; Willowbrook DECA reported multiple top‑10 state placements and one student qualifying for DECA nationals in Atlanta.
In athletics, Addison Trail recognized sophomore Nico Duarte as a state wrestling finalist after a 29‑6 season and top‑8 state finish at 120 pounds; his coach praised his work ethic and leadership. The board presented certificates and mementos and thanked advisors and families for their support.
