The DuPage HSD 88 Board of Education approved routine financial items and awarded a facilities contract during its meeting.
Treasurer presented the month‑ending report (02/28/2026) showing a total balance of $70,474,501.60 and monthly interest income of $141,083.72; the board approved the treasurer’s report by roll call. Staff then reviewed the February budget status report across funds (education, operations & maintenance, transportation and pension), noting revenue collection percentages, year‑over‑year variances in investment income and federal aid, and areas to monitor such as tuition and capital spending. The board approved the budget status report.
As part of procurement actions, the board approved the list of authorized bank depositories for 2026–27 with no changes from the prior year. On capital improvements, the board approved the lowest responsive and responsible bid from Edwin Anderson Construction in the amount of $364,000 (including a $15,000 contingency) to purchase and install large industrial fans in the Addison Trail East Gym & Field House and the Willowbrook Auxiliary Gym & Field House. Administrators said the project responds to summertime temperature concerns in non‑air‑conditioned spaces and that four vendors bid for the work.
Other approved routine contract actions included a yearbook services renewal with Johnston's Inc. for 2026–27 at a 3% rate increase (payment based on student orders) and authorization for administration to dispose of obsolete equipment per established procedures. Administration also noted it will propose the purchase of three used buses at the next board meeting to rotate older vehicles out of service.
All listed motions passed on roll call. The board will receive further procurement details and transportation proposals at upcoming meetings.
