Trustees approve policy updates and confirm new president for Minnesota North College

Trustees took a roll-call vote approving the policy revisions as presented.
Chancellor Bill Olsen presented a national search outcome for Minnesota North College and recommended Dr. Jesalyn Sabin for the presidency. After search committee interviews, campus forums, and reference checks, trustees voted to approve the chancellor's appointment recommendation unanimously; the committee authorized the chancellor to negotiate an employment agreement and forwarded the appointment for full board action.
On a separate search for Minnesota State College Southeast, the chancellor reported that campus feedback indicated no candidate had received broad campus support. He said he will start a new search in the fall and will visit the campuses to discuss next steps.
The committee also approved a consent agenda (minutes, policy amendments, and a food service contract) by roll-call vote.
