The project sits deep within the site — more than 200 feet from 14 Mile — and staff flagged only standard engineering comments. The board adopted the planning department findings and approved the plan subject to routine department conditions and the city’s standard site‑plan expiration language.
Kim Rasnick, executive director of Clover Hill Park Cemetery, told the board the shiva center serves the broader community (including families whose loved ones are interred elsewhere) and described recent active use of the facility.
The motion to approve passed unanimously; staff noted the approval is valid for one year and that the applicant may request a one‑year extension before expiration.
