The Director told the board the policy’s purpose is to “support education and tutoring in the library” while keeping tutoring from disrupting regular library operations and making clear the library will not supervise or assume liability for tutors. He proposed restricting tutoring to the four reservable study rooms and three booths or outdoor tables rather than allowing tutors to occupy children’s areas or main reading tables.
