Rancho Palos Verdes is creating an RPV Community Foundation to solicit private gifts and donations for city projects and amenities, Mayor Paul Seo said on City Talk.
Seo said the foundation has obtained a federal employer identification number and is encouraging residents to contribute to local improvements. He described the foundation as another avenue to fund projects that tax revenues do not fully cover.
The council will serve as the inaugural board and Seo said the first board meeting is expected in March. He noted the state-level registration was not yet completed at the time of the interview but that donations can still be accepted using the federal ID.
Seo framed the foundation as part of broader efforts to expand revenue avenues for the city while preserving quality of life in Rancho Palos Verdes.
