Adelanto reports wastewater-plant optimization, plans 2M-gallon expansion and 2-mile road RFP

The Adelanto city manager reported Nov. 12 that recent optimization work at the city’s wastewater treatment plant has increased processing capacity by about 500,000 gallons per day and positions the city to plan a future expansion of roughly 2,000,000 gallons per day to meet anticipated industrial and residential growth over the next three to five years.
"This improvement enables the plant to process an additional 500,000 gallons of sewage per day, ensuring we remain in full compliance with state mandated regulations," the city manager said during the announcements. Staff said planning and discussion will continue for the larger expansion.
The city manager also announced that the Seneca Road Rehabilitation and paving project RFP will be advertised next week. The two-mile project was described in staff remarks as an approximately $2,000,000 investment meant to improve a key corridor and commuting conditions for residents.
Why it matters: Increasing plant capacity helps the city address growth and maintain regulatory compliance; the announced road project targets a corridor the council described as important for safety and access. Council did not take action to commit construction funding at the Nov. 12 meeting; both items were presented as staff updates and project planning steps.
