Wildomar to offer free preapproved ADU plans and 24/7 online solar permitting early next year

City staff told attendees at the State of the City that Wildomar will launch two programs next year intended to cut permitting time and lower costs for residents.

"City staff have been developing preapproved accessory dwelling unit plans that are expected to launch early next year. These no cost plans will be ready for permitting, eliminating the need to hire private designers and significantly reducing both architectural review and turnaround times," the city said in the address.

Officials also announced Symbium, an online solar permitting platform. "Beginning early next year, homeowners and contractors will be able to submit and receive solar permits entirely online, available 24 hours a day," the remarks said, which the city framed as a step to reduce paperwork and delays and accelerate clean‑energy projects.

The city did not provide a detailed rollout calendar, staffing numbers for plan review, or an estimate of how many ADU or solar permits these changes will generate in the first year; those details were "not specified" in the presentation.
