The Plain Board of Zoning Appeals on March 11, 2026, swore in newly appointed member Caleb Mason for a term through Dec. 31, 2030, and completed routine organizational business including approval of prior minutes and leadership nominations.
The meeting opened with roll call and the chair administered the oath of office to Caleb Mason, who repeated the oath on the record. The Clerk recorded members present. The board then moved to housekeeping: the chair nominated Mr. Ehler for chair and Mr. Hogan for vice chair; nominations were seconded and board members voiced their affirmations during roll-call discussion.
The board also moved to approve the minutes from the Jan. 14, 2026 meeting; members present voted to approve those minutes. Planning & Zoning staff (Mr. Hutchinson) briefed the board on the status of the village comprehensive plan and noted an upcoming presentation to Planning & Zoning and council.
With those items complete, the board proceeded to a public hearing on an area variance.
