The Idea Committee opened its March 18 meeting at 6:09 p.m., completed roll call, and adopted the meeting agenda by voice vote.
Staff reported attendance and noted members absent. The committee heard a report that outreach at senior lunches raised approximately $269; the committee purchased items from Cora’s wish list (Community Overcoming Relationship Abuse) and delivered three city-labeled packages addressed as from the Idea Committee and the Brisbane community.
Members asked for clarification about appointment cycles and vacancies. Staff explained regular terms typically start in January and run two years; midterm appointees serve out the remaining term and appointments are tracked via resolutions tied to each person’s appointment.
Staff and the Chair shared community announcements: a family-friendly event called "Boogie Down Brisbane" is scheduled Saturday (noon–4 p.m.) with local and regional hip-hop performers, vendors and activities; nonprofit partners include Lyrical Opposition and Hapua Cultural Center (the latter’s founder is a Brisbane resident). Staff also noted the City Council will hold a priority-setting session at the DoubleTree Hotel Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Chair adjourned the meeting at 6:34 p.m.
