The City Council voted on Jan. 28 to reject all bids for the Seneca Road rehabilitation project so staff can revise plans and specifications, Engineering Services Manager Gary told the council.
Gary said reviewers determined the current design documents need clarification to ensure the project is deliverable, competitive and carried out in the city’s best interest. Rejecting bids will allow the city to reduce the risk of change orders, delays or increased costs and to readvertise the project after revisions.
Councilors asked about expected delays; engineering staff estimated only a brief delay of a week or two to update documents and re‑advertise.
