During the May 22 meeting, staff told commissioners that the Planning Commission’s earlier approval of a conditional use permit for a Walmart has been appealed and that the appeal will be scheduled for the Rohnert Park City Council meeting on July 8, 2025.
Planner Christina said the previously approved permit is on pause while the appeal proceeds and that the council hearing will be publicly noticed the same way the commission hearing was. She advised members of the public with concerns about the approval to contact project planners (Brandy West or Christina) or the city clerk for more information.
Commission discussion focused on procedural next steps; no additional action was taken by the commission at the May 22 meeting. The appeal will be decided by the city council at the scheduled July 8 hearing.
