Planning commission clears temporary storage container for Mountain Valley Health Centers at 50 Alamo Avenue

The Weed City Planning Commission granted a temporary conditional use permit to Mountain Valley Health Centers to place a prefabricated storage container at 50 Alamo Avenue during clinic remodeling.
Shannon Gerrick, who introduced herself in the record as CEO of Mountain Valley Health Centers, told commissioners the container will store clinic supplies during construction at the Weed Health Center and said construction is expected to begin within 30 to 45 days. “We would like the storage container to store supplies from within the clinic, temporarily,” Gerrick said, and added the unit would be sited down in a lower parking area out of sight from the road.
Staff again advised the commission that the proposal is exempt from CEQA under Section 15303 (Class 3) and pointed to the conditions of approval in the staff report. Commissioners raised no substantive opposition. A motion to approve the temporary storage container was made, seconded, and carried on the record with affirmative votes recorded as “Aye” and no opposition recorded in the transcript; staff formally granted the temporary facility.
Gerrick indicated she will attend to color considerations as the commission had noted in the earlier item. The permit includes the conditions listed in the staff report (transcript reference to page 6) and is temporary to support the remodel project.
