Corey Rosad, a lifelong San Carlos resident and HIPP Housing board member, presented the nonprofit’s work to the City Council on Jan. 26, summarizing countywide and local services to preserve affordable housing and support low‑income residents.
Rosad said HIPP Housing has provided housing help since 1972 and listed program totals: "Last year, we worked with over 4,000 individuals and provided housing to over 1,200 low‑income households throughout the county," he told the council. For San Carlos specifically, Rosad said HIPP served about 102 residents during the 2024–25 fiscal year through its properties and programs.
He outlined program participation in San Carlos: 23 applicants to a home‑sharing program, 14 families in a self‑sufficiency program, and four seniors in a housing readiness program. Rosad presented HIPP’s 2026 calendar — produced from children’s drawings about what home means — and said the calendar is intended to raise awareness about housing needs.
Rosad thanked the mayor and council for ongoing support and directed residents to HIPP Housing’s website for more information on services and how to access programs. The presentation was informational; the council did not take action on funding or policy during the meeting.
