The San Bruno Planning Commission on July 9 recommended that the City Council adopt a package of zoning-map and text amendments tied to the city's Transit Quarter Plan, approving changes intended to standardize mixed-use zoning along El Camino Real and simplify rules for property owners, planners said.
Planning staff told the commission the package would rezone several parcels that are currently in plan-development (PD) districts into corresponding mixed-use zones such as TOD-2 and the Central Business District so that rules are consistent across the corridor; staff also proposed terminating the Mills Park development agreement after the property owner indicated it does not plan to pursue the existing entitlement. "This change simplifies processes for property owners, potential tenants and the city," planning staff said during the presentation.
