On the Belle Haven Community History Project, staff said a California State Library grant was canceled by federal action and that the library foundation has agreed to consider funding a revised proposal. "We wrote a grant with the California State Library. California State Library grant funds got canceled by feds. Then we asked the library foundation if they would be willing to support this project. They said yes," staff reported.
Staff also warned of near‑term parking constraints: a lot between the library and the gym will likely be mostly closed for about six weeks for photovoltaic carport construction, and the commission discussed alternate parking locations and signage to guide patrons during the closure.
Finally, commissioners asked for a future update on the library’s procurement response to Baker & Taylor disruptions; staff said they are shifting supply orders to Ingram and other vendors and will provide a fuller update at a future meeting.
