The committee member described plans for Children's Park as "a very elaborate renovation," saying the district is issuing a request for proposals and expects about a six-month construction period once a contractor is selected. "They're expecting to have a 6 month construction period once they do that," the committee member said.
The committee member also highlighted the Ventura Community Partners Foundation, describing it as a conduit that enables tax-deductible donations to governmental programs. "They're a conduit for people to make tax deductible contributions to governmental programs," the committee member said, and suggested the board might consider a similar arrangement.
