Staff indicated that public comments are registered with staff and treated as referrals: if an item requires additional information or action, staff will return it to the commission at a future meeting; if it can be handled administratively, staff will follow up directly. "A public comment is not something that the commission responds to at the time... it becomes a referral essentially to staff," Joan said in response to the procedural question.
A second commenter, identified only by his first name, Adam, used his time to celebrate local musicians, noting that a songwriter from town and a local group are touring in Europe and that audiences have been receptive.
Next steps: staff will review the mural application fee question and follow up as appropriate, returning the matter to the commission if the issue warrants further discussion or a referral.
