Montclair announces Easter event and Arbor Day; city attorney schedules closed sessions and pulls Kresbeck v. Montclair

Marsha from Human Services told the council the city will host an Easter Extravaganza on Saturday, April 19, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Alma Hoffman Park and the Montclair Community Center, with games, prize eggs, photos with the Easter Bunny (photos $3, or $1 if using your own camera) and a pancake breakfast sponsored by the Ontario Montclair Kiwanis Club.
"Please bring your own bag or basket to collect your candy filled eggs while supplies last," Marsha said while describing activities for children ages 12 and under and event sponsors.
Earlier in the meeting Mayor Dutre proclaimed April 26, 2025, as Arbor Day in the City of Montclair and Monica, the city’s Public Works Director, invited residents to an Arbor Day event at Essex Park offering free mulch, tree saplings and tree installations.
On procedural matters, the city attorney told councilors they would meet in closed session regarding pending or potential litigation (one case) and closed‑session real‑property negotiations; the attorney also said the Kresbeck v. Montclair item listed on the agenda was being pulled and would not be discussed.
The public portion of the meeting concluded with council announcements, volunteer cleanup sign‑ups for May 17 and a transition to closed session for the items the attorney described.
