The West Hollywood Business License Commission on March 3 approved a modification to Meissen Enterprises Inc. d/b/a McDonald’s extended‑hours license (EXT000070‑2025), permitting the restaurant’s interior dining area to operate between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. while retaining previously approved drive‑through hours.
Staff summarized the item and reminded the commission that the original May 20, 2025 approval (resolution BOC25‑004) included a six‑month review of calls for service. "There were seven calls for service between May 20 and Dec. 31, 2025," staff said, adding the calls were used by partners to assess safety impacts and that only one after‑the‑fact code complaint was recorded about vehicle idling.
Patricia Yoon, the owner‑operator of the McDonald’s at 1133 North La Brea, told the commission she purchased the restaurant in October 2024, completed a lobby remodel and invested in professional security services. "Keeping the lobby open overnight will reduce congestion in the drive‑through, particularly from delivery drivers picking up orders," Yoon said, adding an indoor pickup option gives delivery drivers access to restrooms and reduces cars circulating in the drive‑through.
Commissioners questioned whether reopening the lobby could worsen noise for residents in an adjacent condominium and whether trash issues had been reported; staff said code enforcement had not received complaints about trash and added that nighttime officers had inspected the property without finding violations. Commissioners concluded that interior dining would likely reduce drive‑through congestion and voted to approve the requested modification.
Vice Chair Berry moved for approval and Commissioner Eisenberg seconded; the roll‑call vote was unanimous. Staff noted the standard 15‑day appeal period and that the conditions of prior resolutions remain in force unless specifically changed by the commission.
