San Dimas seeks contractor for SB 1383 outreach; staff says work covered by grant

The city presented a proposed RFP award to a firm called GoToZero for public outreach tied to SB 1383 and related city education efforts.
“The item before you this evening is a RFP that the city would like to award to GoToZero regarding outreach for SB 1383 using a grant that we've received,” Lauren Marshall, senior management analyst with the Public Works Department, told the council. She said the contract would also allow the firm to produce outreach on recurring issues that consume staff time, such as hazardous waste and bulky-item abandonment, and would include materials tailored to multifamily properties and property managers.
Council members asked whether the work is grant-funded; Marshall replied that it is. She added that the outreach would provide new and existing lessees or owners a package explaining applicable rules and tools for property managers, and that staff plan to bring related municipal code or policy work back to the council later this year.
The presentation was a staff report and discussion; no final contract award was recorded in open session. Staff said they will return with more information for council consideration.
