San Dimas Library will temporarily close on Saturday, Feb. 7, for renovations that will modernize and upgrade the public and staff restrooms to be ADA accessible, the library’s teen and adult services librarian told the council.
“San Dimas library is scheduled to temporarily close for renovation on Saturday, February 7,” Nancy Munoz said, adding the project is “made possible through an $800,000 grant awarded to L.A. County Library.” She described recent library programming — bilingual music shows, toddler yoga, Art Explorers and a teen goal-setting workshop — and said staff are exploring temporary operations and will provide updates to the council and community.
The renovations are aimed at improving accessibility and bringing facilities up to current standards, Munoz said. She also emphasized continued programming for children and teens leading up to the closure and told the council staff will communicate alternatives for patrons while work is under way.
Library patrons and stakeholders can expect more details from staff about temporary locations or modified services as the project timeline and logistics are finalized.
