Alameda presents final 'Road Home' plan, cites shelter expansion and limited flexible funds

Simone Falls, the City of Alameda’s housing and human services division manager, presented the Road Home five‑year strategic plan and a review of the last five years to the Social Service & Human Relations Board on Feb. 26.
"We have about $25,000 for a year," Simone said when describing the city’s newer prevention program, adding that the city also manages a $50,000 homeless flex fund. Together, staff said, those flexible funding streams total roughly $75,000 annually to support people who are unhoused or at risk.
