Committee accepts small federal grant allocations and approves two preschool paraprofessionals funded from revolving account

The committee approved several administrative items including acceptance of small supplemental Title-grant allocations and a motion to add two preschool paraprofessional positions funded from the preschool revolving fund.

Emma Pugliese explained the Title grant adjustments are modest carry-forwards redistributed by the state after charter and expansion allocations are set; she said, “these are just small additional amounts” and confirmed they come with no new programmatic burden. A motion to accept the additional grant funds carried.

Separately, the committee approved adding two preschool paraprofessional positions to serve the district’s integrated preschool program, funded by the preschool revolving fund and tuition revenue increases approved earlier. Pugliese provided a short cost estimate for the remainder of the school year: about $19,226 in salaries for two hires for the remaining 55 school days plus a health-insurance cost range for the three-month remainder between roughly $5,200 and $22,000 depending on coverage selection. She said the revolving fund has capacity to cover the need; the motion passed at the full committee meeting by an 8–0 vote.

Committee members thanked Buildings & Grounds for winter work and acknowledged the grants and revolving funds overview that frames the district’s all-funds budget.
