Weed council approves consent agenda, encroachment permits and introduces mobile‑home enforcement ordinance

The council also approved an encroachment permit for the Weed High School homecoming parade scheduled for Oct. 18, 2024, with a combination of hard closures and rolling closures described by public safety staff, and approved an encroachment permit for the Chamber of Commerce's trunk-or-treat event on Oct. 26, 2024, with street closures and fire-lane maintenance plans.
Council introduced Ordinance No. 478-2024 to begin relinquishing local enforcement of the Mobile Home Act and the Special Occupancy Park Act back to the state; staff noted a required 90-day notice period to the state and said mobile-home parks had been notified.
