"It gives the city's actual representation," the executive director said, explaining that city-appointed representatives to the LTC selection committee would serve concurrently on the JPA board.
The council discussed board makeup and the practical benefit of having commission members recess and reconvene as the JPA board so existing expertise is leveraged. Concerns about administrative layers and meeting frequency were raised, and staff agreed to circulate a chart that compares LTC and JPA roles.
A motion to enter the JPA was moved and seconded and passed by voice vote; no public comment was recorded on the item.
