Dobbs Ferry trustees approve film-permit hike, parking fine increases and fee schedule updates

The Dobbs Ferry Board of Trustees on March 24 approved multiple revisions to the village master fee schedule, including increasing the flat film permit fee from $1,500 to $5,000 per day and raising a series of parking violation fines.
Trustees said the film permit change is a first step; the board directed the village clerk to return with options for differentiated rates or exceptions based on production type and scale. The motion to change the film permit fee passed unanimously.
The board also approved minor adjustments to recreation program fees and several parking-related fee changes. Specific parking fine updates approved included increasing the fine for parked bus stops from $50 to $100 and raising fines for parking in fire lanes, obstructing fire hydrants and handicapped on-street violations to $250. Trustees discussed the need to communicate fee increases clearly and to complete striping and signage work before enforcement intensifies.
Separately, trustees approved a range of other routine fee schedule and program items discussed at the workshop; none of the recreation program line items were altered from the workshop recommendations.
The clerk will update the published fee schedule and staff will pursue the operational steps (signage, striping, public notice) trustees requested ahead of enforcement.
