Project manager Brad Calzo told commissioners the first blocks may take longer but staff had confidence the crew could do the work.
Commissioners discussed maintenance responsibility, ADA slopes where sidewalks rise above curbs, and the potential to install solar‑powered lighting in later phases. A member of the public cautioned about ADA compliance on slopes; staff acknowledged the need for careful grading and adherence to standards.
The commission voted by voice to approve the project (motion passed 5‑0). Staff said the CRA and general fund split was already budgeted for design and materials and that maintenance plans will be coordinated with public works.
