Chair Rogers said the committee emphasized three themes raised repeatedly in outreach: transportation and safety, continuity of special programs, and minimizing repeated rezonings for families.
The option assigns different pockets (described to trustees as "Gentry airway pocket," north and south Corbett areas, and central Corvette pockets) to receiving schools and specifies which students will receive transportation. Staff described planned follow‑up: individualized notices to affected families, information about school‑of‑choice options, and outreach to employees and principals to manage transition logistics.
Clerk Christine Hall moved adoption of Option 1 for the 2027‑28 school year; Trustee Smith seconded and the board voted unanimously to adopt the recommendation. Trustees and staff emphasized ongoing communication and outreach to impacted families and staff.
