Residents praise library and school programs, raise transit shelters and tree‑planting needs during public comment

Violet Robertson, a student from San Dimas High School, summarized academic and extracurricular highlights — including a girls basketball tournament win and upcoming choir and drama performances — and invited the public to upcoming shows Jan. 28–Feb. 1.
A lifelong resident identifying as Kaz urged improvements to newly installed bus shelters (better rain protection, more seating and different lighting), criticized last year's public safety spending (stating $9,001,959) and encouraged reallocating funds toward parks/recreation and more community events. Former councilman John Ebner presented a volunteer tree‑planting spreadsheet with about 235 suggested locations across seven neighborhoods and asked staff to review it to help prioritize the city's $20,000 tree‑planting allocation.
The council thanked speakers, discussed follow‑up steps for the tree planting inventory and agreed to schedule a study session to review the volunteer map and staff priorities.
