Weed City adopts master fee schedule, approves water‑code update and nearly $1M in warrants

Weed City Council adopted Resolution 022026 to publish a consolidated master fee schedule for municipal services after staff said recent statutes require all city fees be published in one place.
"In response to recent statutes that have been passed, we are now required to publish all of our city fees," said Staff member during the staff report on the public hearing. Staff told council they compiled updated fee schedules across departments to make fees easier for the public to find.
The fee schedule was adopted after no public proponents came forward and a brief council discussion on public access and potential business attraction. Council approved the resolution by voice vote.
The consent agenda also included several routine but substantive items: second reading and adoption (by title only) of Ordinance No. 489-2025, which replaces Chapter 14.04 of the municipal code to update water service billing, customer responsibilities, water‑use restrictions, water waste and the contingency plan for water sources; approval of Resolution O1-2026, adopting the Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal Fire) grant agreement No. 7FG25748; approval of the December 11, 2025 meeting minutes; and approval of payment warrants dated Nov. 21, 2025, through Dec. 24, 2025, including manually issued items totaling $991,189.44. The consent agenda was approved by voice vote.
Council members said posting a master fee schedule online in one document will help residents and prospective businesses see applicable fees in one location and better estimate permit and service costs.
Next steps: the master fee schedule will be posted on the city’s website; staff will publish department fee details and continue making permitting and licensing more accessible via the new website.
